Another piece of the sudden cash infusion into Star Citizen's primary company, just dropped overnight.

As with the off-shore funding, this happened this past Summer, and they're only dumping it now at the end of the year - during the holidays.

Daniel O'connell Offner is now a director in CIG. Which means he probably has the title here in the US as well, since like Ortwin, he is only licensed to practice here.

Dan has an extensive experience in steering companies to acquisitions, raising investor money etc. He is the quintessential heavyweight with notable deals under his belt.

If you read his bio, and the words "Columbus Nova" jumps at you, pat yourself on the back. That company (owned by Viktor Vekselberg a Russian oligarch under US sanctions since this past Summer) also owns Daybreak Games. That furor was blazing this past Summer if you recall.

No corroboration yet, but now I have reason to believe sources who had said that CIG also has investors in the US breathing down their necks.

You don't bring someone like Dan into your company unless you are 1) looking for money 2) looking to cash out

Remember how I have been saying all year that something big was brewing behind the scenes? Then this UK money gig happened in the Summer, and we only now find out about it. Rest of the events are currently playing out, and the biggest is yet to come.

These are his short list of clients. I have no reason to believe that either of these are likely to buy CIG. At least not the game companies (e.g. Ubisoft) who know better than to give Chris ANY money for ANYTHING.

For the record, there is ZERO evidence that Dan is tied to ANY of the three off-shore companies that recently invested in CIG this past Summer. So that guy who created that Reddit thread is doing what they do: make stuff up out of whole cloth because it stifles the tears.

I can't wait to see how those guys spin what's sure to drop next (probably in the new year).

But they KNOW the project is in financial distress. So anything about money infusion, is OK with them. As long as nothing affects their space chariots.

Also, Dan now joins Chris, Erin, and Ortwin as directors of CIG.

Dan is either an investor himself, or he is representing a client. You don't get an exec or board level seat at the table for free. There's always money or similar incentives involved.

I have been hearing that layoffs are coming. Not sure to what extent, but we'll find out soon enough. This explains their recent revamp of the company website with hiring push, even though they aren't actually hiring. They're trying to counter the inbound bad news.

One thing I forgot to mention about this UK filing of the Dan Offner appointment.

They filed & certified their 2017 accounts on 10/26/18.

Though he was appointed in 05/23/18, they never added him to that filing as required by law.

Either the auditors missed it, or they deliberately (and unlawfully) didn't add him to that filing. Had they done so, we would have known about his appointment back in Oct.

12/07/2012: Chris & David on a stream. He's talking about lining up investors etc. One of these two men has since funded, developed, completed, and shipped THREE games (one of which is a highly advanced space combat game) since that interview.
