For those wanting names, here are examples - NOT predictions.
1st, remember there are many possibilities beyond the 10 Republicans we’re always disappointed by. There are more than 300 current, incoming, retiring or defeated Congressional Republicans.
Of course they‘re not all of the same stature. Some are of no stature. But we’re not talking about 20 Republican Senators voting to convict.
We’re talking the first domino. It’s hard being first. Much easier to be second, third, etc.
So who might be first?
The first Republican doesn’t necessarily need to be a profile in courage. [So don’t @ me about none of them have honor; word “naive” will result in blocking.]
You know what they all have? A well-honed self-preservation reflex. Someone’s political calculus can be 85% selfish.
On top of Members of Congress there are dozens of sitting & former governors, former & hopeful presidential candidates, party leaders, a former president. Don’t write off Conservative TV hosts, talking heads, columnists.
[Don’t @ me they’ll be attacked; of course they will]
It doesn’t have to be a press conference proclaiming, “donald trump should resign or be impeached!”
Will be a fleeting comment/answer:
“We’re getting close to Republicans needing to make a tough decision.”
“I hear rumblings.”
“A year ago I would’ve said no way but now...”
Not wagering a guess on when. There’s a momentum but the holidays will be a pause - unless there’s a shutdown. And a shutdown might have the effect of rallying Republicans into a conventional D vs R fight, like Kavanaugh. As opposed to Charlottesville, Syria, Helsinki, KSA.
Enough preamble. In NO order:

There are dozens more. Point is, there are many more possibilities than you may realize.
Example: one of the 1st Democrats in 1998 was George Stephanopolous, he was working for ABC. He said the revelations “would either lead towards impeachment proceedings or resignation."
That’s it for now.
And again, think twice before @ me w a pedantic reply. Trolls are more welcome than literalism.
Another that’s become a pet peeve are the topic switchers: “Nothing matters if our NATO allies abandon us! Don’t be distracted.”
Consider yourselves warned.
Can’t believe I forgot to list Mitt Romney. He’s high on my list.
I know I know, he genuflected for the SecState job and then held his fire running for the Senate. blah blah blah.
Romney hates his fucking guts.
(And doesn’t have to worry about re-election until 2024.)
To some extent the who is easier to guess then when. While trump is uniquely vulnerable at this moment in time the dynamic could easily revert to pre-Syria/Mattis/Wall. If that happens, don’t worry. This is the first, but not last window. There’s a lotta roller coaster left.
