Leaving aside the ‘arbitrary detention’ I really can’t see on what basis the UN are telling the UK to forget that Assange skipped bail and let him off. That’s a domestic law issue and unrelated to any of the (debatable) international law points
Assange went through a legal process in the UK, all the way to the Supreme Court, and then skipped bail to avoid extradition. Appreciate that the extradition case no longer stands but the bail issue is separate
I honestly don’t understand how the UK would be ‘honouring its rights obligations’ by dropping the bail conditions breach case. Is the point that the Swedish case has now been proven to have been trumped up so he was right all along?
