This is exactly right. This all seems like a pointless debate not just because we haven't see signs that Beto will run but also that its shaping up to be a crowded field with many other good, serious candidates who are in fact preparing a run.
The whole Bernie-vs.-Beto frame assumes a replay of 2016 and does a disservice to the many credible candidates who aren't Bernie or Beto (to name a few, Warren, Gillibrand, Booker, Harris).
It might be the case that a few Bernie supporters are criticizing Beto right now.But here's the thing: if Beto runs & continues to have a nebulous policy profile, that's the same objections Warren supporters and Gillibrand supporters will make.
