Yet somehow angrily insisting that other people use their own preferred words is freedom.
Female ghostbuster ruins my childhood...
Black spider man destroys the character...
“Happy holidays” is an aggressive act of war...
...say people who think everyone else is being far too sensitive about race and gender and language.
it’s the whole way they operate.
They want to fly the confederate flag at state buildings
They want the Washington Redskins and the Cleveland Indians
they want to say there are only two genders
They’re just mad they’re losing.
They’ll never asked themselves, if calling God she is political correctness out of control...
How was calling God “he” for centuries somehow neutral?
Draw Jesus with an Afro.
Put pronouns in your twitter bio.
You’ll see how politically correct they become.
Nothing.
You’re just changing your default settings.
Not theirs. Yours.
Watch how politically correct they become.
So when did everyone else become the sensitive ones?
Start calling it politically considerate.
“Sure, I try to be PC when I can. I like to learn, and it doesn’t have to be all about me.”
Ask them: What about my pronouns in my twitter bio is being done TO you?
Mostly people want to call people what they want to be called.
Pronouns help that.
So I add my pronouns.
What exactly is that doing TO you?
It's activating the conscience of those who would rather be inconsiderate, and they don't even realize it.
Maybe they're actively bigoted. Maybe they're reflexively defensive. Maybe they're simply lazy.
But they'd rather be inconsiderate.
Often as a defense they'll make a value of their desired inconsiderate behavior.
"I'm not exactly a PC person."
"I tell it like it is."
"I'm brutally honest."
And next time someone gets angry at you for using language that includes rather than excludes, expands rather than contracts, commiserate:
"I know. My conscience bothered me about this at first, too."
See how politically correct they get.
“Happy holidays” isn’t something people insist on. It’s what people say to be generally inclusive when a shared experience isn’t assumed.
Happy Holidays = personally considerate
“That slur was used in the ongoing genocide of my people.”
“YOU ARE PUTTING A GUN TO MY HEAD”
It's all a hustle.
