I would STILL advise my Soldiers the same. No matter my political leanings, or who the president was. You never know when the layers above you will go high and right, and it's always better to play it safe.
I would have been extremely happy if/when my fears proved unfounded. But having seen good Soldiers get screwed when a CG or congresscritter got their hat screwed on too tight (say, over a CNN report), I would not have counted on it.

What is "essential" in a genome? A good article, with links to primary sources. A complicated question even before you step out of the lab and into varying real life conditions. quantamagazine.org/how-many-genes…
Yeast are also an interesting model organism for this because yeast tend to lose genes that they don't need. So, while we have an "essential" (without it they die) map, the "the yeast thinks its important" map is the whole genome.
Figuring out why, and how the "less important" genes link into the larger network for possibly outsized effects when paired with others could be very enlightening to understanding more complex eukaryotic systems.

Jimin wouldn’t allow himself to be trapped on his shift for any longer than necessary.

“Go, go,” Taehyung hurried, taking Jimin’s apron to let him slip out from behind the counter more quickly. Jimin decided he could get the grounds out from under his nails at home.
This morning had been absolute hell. Two girls ordered seven drinks, Jimin made them all only for them to say they were supposed to be with almond milk.

‘Oh I’m so sorry,’ was he all he had legally been allowed to say at the time, while his mind had far more colorful ideas.
With Jimin officially clocked out, he slumped on the customer side of the now empty service counter, looking to his friend with tired eyes.

“You wanna grab dinner later?”
“I can’t, remem—?
“Ah, right...”

Jimin’s disappointment vanished as Taehyung suddenly smiled to himself.

Recently someone asked me what I liked about Haskell and if I thought it was the best language. I said I liked it, but it wasn't the best. The gist of it was this tweet by @DRMacIver. (thread)
I like Haskell because it lets me build larger systems, more easily, and with less hassle, than any other lang I've used. It feels much more solid in the hand, like a quality hammer, compared to eg Python, which to me feels fragile, and cheap. I'll put more confidence in Haskell.
Haskell solves pretty much all issues that arise for small to medium sized projects and many that arise for large and very large projects. This is unlike Python/Java/C/PHP/Bash/C#/Scala which have issues at all scales. (I will collectively call them Python#++)
