Because you can’t really observe or witness yourself in meatspace, it’s highly likely (almost certain, unless you’re a recluse) that other people have a clearer picture of you than you have of yourself. How you cough, sneeze, laugh and slouch, your verbal tics, hand gestures...
Seeing yourself in the background of other people’s photos and videos can be quite disconcerting because of this, and more so for you than for everyone else because that’s how they’ve known you all along. But you only really see yourself in self-observation mode
For this reason I like to look for pictures of me where I don’t realise I’m in the picture. Apparently I grab my arm a lot
This is probably how I look most of the time, but I barely recognise myself because I hardly ever see myself like this except in this sort of photo - which are uncommon, since most photos involve me looking at the camera or knowing I’m being photographed (eg onstage)
😂 good times
an interesting thing about being a DIY twitter historian is that you get to see how your own thoughts evolve over time. a thing i am slowly learning is that you don't need to be anxious about forgetting good ideas because they do keep coming back
in my case, ideas tends to start out as simple observations and over time organically build out into more elaborate structures. I've seen this process happen several times with several different ideas. I can afford to be even more chill than I already am
