Me : That is my preference but I’m happy with compromise e.g. EEA docked to EFTA.
X : But what about the impact of WTO? It could cause an 8% drop in GDP.
Me : There are many predictions. Why the concern?
X : It would impact the poorest.

Me : That depends.
X : On what?
Me : Are you talking a Tory or a Labour brexit?
X : What difference does that make?
Me : Under a Tory Gov whether we brexit or not then the poorest will be hit hardest regardless of GDP changes.

X : Brexit will result in deaths due to medicines etc.
Me : A future possible. Austerity has already resulted in deaths, about 120,000 of them and increasing.
X : If Labour supported remain …

Me : … it would probably lose. We can’t afford that.
X : I won’t vote for Corbyn.
Me : That is your choice, just be aware of what you are voting for.

X : If Labour supported remain would you vote for them?
Me : A future hypothetical, we have our policy set out in conference.
X : Would you vote for them?
Me : Vote for the reforms under Corbyn? Of course. I’ve been quite public about that. Brexit is a secondary issue to me.

X : So why do you argue against Labour supporting remain?
Me : I don’t argue against it. I argue in favour of Labour winning under Corbyn.
X : Corbyn can’t win.
Me : You keep telling me this. I disagree.

X : If Labour keep Corbyn then the Tories will win.
Me : I disagree.
X : You are helping the Tories to win.
Me : Hmmm, I’m not the one saying I won’t vote Labour. I think you need to shout at a mirror.
