What is the best way you've come across to say "no" to something (anything ranging from getting coffee to joining a company) while still making the other person feel as OK/non-rejected as possible?
Learning:

Different situations call for different styles—in context of investors, etc, direct honesty appreciated

but it’s weird to say to someone who’s inviting you to coffee: “too early for me, come back when more traction” or a birthday "sorry, I'm prioritizing X right now"
I think the best solution for templatized work no's (e.g getting coffee) might be having clear policy & being able to point to it.

Best solution for getting out of birthdays, friend's social events (if you're an introvert)?
Got this next level "no" I thought I'd share. h/t @kamens
