By slow degrees Trump has destroyed Howard Beale's media cathedral by turning it into a clown show. By some wizardry he has gotten its stars to play themselves and the audience hasn't stopped laughing.
The price has been to strip public life of all gravitas, mystery and soaring. Now all we got is a bunch of guys down at the hall.
All the Somebodies are looking hokey, including Trump himself. The thing is he doesn't seem to mind.

We are living in a mild form of the post apocalyptic future. For a new nucleus to form there must be an escape from the churn. That will probably take the form of internal retreat into closed affinity groups until practical interplanetary travel is possible.
People are turning inward as they lose trust in institutions, as protection from the madness that seems rising all around. The fear is the madness won't stop.

Make no mistake, seeing as CIG/RSI are basically INSOLVENT, this is the final death knell. Especially if Crytek files an injunction to prevent them from continuing to operate Star Citizen. The damages alone are going to be catastrophic. If you're an investor, you just got rekted.
