It’s not wrong to go to someone who has sinned against you & directly address the wrongdoing. What’s wrong, & I’m wondering how many times I’ve been there, is growing a deeper & deeper root of resentment because we lack the courage to confront or the self control to do it calmly.
At times there’s this: a person keeps asking what’s wrong & why we’re distant & we keep denying what’s wrong & our resentment deepens. Sometimes we avoid it because the price is too high. The relationship may not make it after confrontation but it surely won’t make it without it.
One really powerful and transforming goal for this brand new year would be to stop dealing deceitfully in our relationships. Being sweet to their face and hating them in our hearts is still hating them in our hearts. And saccharine leaves a seriously bad aftertaste.
