AHOBILAM - Part 3.

We had planned to have darshan of 5 Narasimha out of the Nava Narasimha temples. Had darshan of Karanja, Ugra and Kroda Narsimha by then. Then had the darshan of Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. By then it was afternoon closing time.

Yagna's were being conducted by a Tamil spiritual trust at that time. So went to see the place. They had made beautiful arrangements.
It would have been a blissful sight seeing all the yagna fires burning. But the Yagna's had been conducted that morning.

In between the yagna ground, Bhagvan was placed beautifully. We were lucky that we went during the time that Yagna's were being conducted. Saw the wonderful arrangements.

Divine atmosphere.
So many Murthis, so beautifully decorated. Maybe because we were not expecting such a sight, when our eyes fell on this place, serenity overflowed in my heart.

Then went to Yogananda Narasimha temple which had opened by then. Had darshan.
Yogananda Narasimha is said to have taught Yoga to Prahlada. Hence the name.

This is the Nava Narasimha temple, where Murthis of Nine Narasimhas are placed. So people like me, who couldn't finish all nine Narasimha darshan, can have a darshan here.

Then went to Chatravata Narasimha temple. This Narasimha is said to be a music lover and blessed all musicians. Since he was installed under a Chatravata (peepal tree) he is called Chatravata Narasimha here.

The temples of Ahobilam were first said to have been built by the Chalukya rulers in 8th century CE. But the present temples were built mostly by the Vijayanagar rulers in 15 century CE

Thus ended our Ahobilam darshanams. Serene, powerful and beautiful.
