That feeling when you give it all you have and life still kicks your ass.
My old high school football coach used to say ... If you give it everything you have and you fail you’ll have one night of bad sleep but if you don’t give it everything you have and you fail you will think about how you should have for the rest of your life.
My Mom used to say ... “If you never risk failure, you’ll never really get what you want. Success is often nothing more than getting up one more time than you fell down. Now, have a cookie and get some rest so you can try again tomorrow.”
It doesn’t matter the domain ... work, relationships, school, love, ... sometimes giving it everything you have isn’t enough to get the outcome you want. And ... It’s often not in your control. And it’s not fun. And it hurts. And it sucks. And for a moment everything seems dark
What separates people is how they respond.
The pain of trying and failing is intense and over rather quickly. The pain of failing to try, on the other hand, is less intense but never really goes away.
