/19 @SenCoryGardner, Senator Gardner,

I received your form letter on e-cigarettes, via email. I was not surprised that you use a response server that doesnt allow people to reply. If you had, you might have to actually interact with your constituents, instead of ignore their..
/19 voices. The first thing you brought up in this form letter, is the current fear mongering rhetoric of youth use on the rise. You even used the FDA hot button word, "epidemic". The problem with that is that epidemic is a word that deals strictly with disease and illness, ...
/19 not product use. It is incorrect to use it in the context you have.

Let's talk about the youth use spike of, 75%, your guess of 80% was incorrect. There was a 75% increase in any use in the last 30 days when the survey was reported. The problem with last 30 day use,...
/19 is it includes people who tried it one time, and never used it again. Which, is very misleading, and called cherry picking. Using data in a way that fits the agenda, not in honesty. If you actually read the report you are quoting, you'll see there was an increase...
/19 regular use. By regular use I mean teens who used e-cigarettes 20 or more days in the last 30. It increased from 1.2% in 2017, to 3.3% in 2018. So you see, how using last day use can lead to that 20% or greater number, but isn't actually accurate.
/19 @SGottliebMD and the @US_FDA are doing the work of pharma corporations, who have seen a significant drop in profit since their options have been left aside, and vaping has been far more successful.
/19 Why else would the @US_FDA approve the most powerful opioid in history, during a opioid crisis, that has seen overdose deaths involving prescription opioids surpass auto accidents in death rate for the first time in history?
/19 The other thing I want to address about your report of choice, is it also shows a number of other disturbing things about youth, that you are ignoring. 39.2% of teens report texting while driving. Now, that seems like a problem to me.
/19 Yet, aside from a few commercials, I don't see the government trying to ban cars or phones for teens. Also, 29.8% of teens report alcohol use, yet nothing has changed in how it is regulated.
/19 19.8% use marijuana, which, even in states that have it legalized, is against the law. 19% are bullied at school, 14% are bullied at school, 7.4% have attempted suicide! Are these not bigger problems?
/19 You've chosen to back the FDA propaganda, that has shown Americans will believe whatever misinformation is given to them. You have chosen to care more about 3.3% of teens, which some of whom are 18 in states where it is legal, vaping instead of smoking.
/19 When asked, most teen users of e-cigarettes were already underage smokers, and switched to vaping much like adults have, for harm reduction.
/19 I sent you links to many current peer reviewed studies of vapor products, and of course you did not address those in any way. I'm unsure if you yourself ever even read my email, or the written letters I sent you.
/19 Considering I received a form letter in return. A form letter that flat out stated you are pro overregulation, and willing to risk the lives of up to 52 million adult Americans, because 3.3% of teens regularly use e-cigarettes to quit smoking,...
/19 with a product proven to be at least 95% safer than smoking.

/19 I will be voting anyone but you in the next election, please know I will be sharing this far and wide, to make sure other Coloradans know your position, and can vote for someone who truly cares about public health.
/19 A study showing vaping can possibly reverse COPD damage.

/19 the @CDCgov report showing vape filled air is well below levels considered safe.

/19 @FarsalinosK report on a flavor survey among adult e-cig users showing the importance in flavors in quitting smoking.

Edit** 14% abuse prescription pain meds.
@SenCoryGardner, these are all voting age adults from colorado who quit smoking with vaping. These are the ones I met over a 3 day span. And these were people that were willing to take a picture, about 30% of the people I met over those 3 days.
