@pdmcleod Fascinating exchange just now on day 2 of Barr's confirmation hearing, where witnesses are testifying. Graham pressed the head of the NAACP, Derrick Johnson, to explain why Republicans get such low ratings on scorecards from the group

Graham: "There's a disparity here. I'd hope you think that I'm — because I disagree with your scorecard rating — that I'm not a racist and I certainly don't know how to close this gap. I'd like to."

Johnson responds: "The NAACP, we're a nonpartisan organization. Our scorecard is not based on political parties. Our scorecard is based on our agenda."

As Johnson talks about that agenda, Graham interrupts to ask how many delegates are Rs. Johnson says they don't track that.

Marc Morial of the Nat'l Urban League jumps in to shift back to Barr: "This is about whether the nominee is going to aggressively, faithfully enforce the civil rights laws, and let me give you a couple facts..." Graham stops him: "Name one Republican that you would support"

Near the end of the exchange:
Morial: "Well, you know, senator, lots of us thought you were going to be nominated as attorney general."
Graham: "Would you have supported me?"
Morial: "Hey guess what, I know we'd have had a discussion and I wouldn't close the door on that."

Bill Barr's confirmation hearing is officially over after several hours of testimony today from witnesses for and against him. Judiciary Committee members have until Jan. 22 to submit written questions, and then he'll respond, and then the committee will set a date for a vote
