@drewmckevitt I just saw the most interesting first fifteen minutes of a video about that

If "the historians" are immortalizing fake news on behalf of a known hate group (the so-called "Hebrew Israelites"), that is a problem.
@drewmckevitt In the short run, people will be defamed - people who deserve better. In the long run, History will lose all credibility as an academic discipline, if historians are seen supporting the effort to write fiction into the historical record, for political purposes.
@drewmckevitt The long run might not be so far off, in this case. The bad reputation of the thoroughly un-Jewish "Hebrew Israelites" is well established on Youtube. Rally around them, and you're going to be drawing a lot of rhetorical fire from people who will have the facts on their side.
@drewmckevitt On their side, and on video.

You might want to consider your next move, carefully. That's not a threat, that's just reasonably friendly advice. The worst thing that I'm thinking of maybe doing to you is blocking you.
@drewmckevitt But others won't be so friendly, if you don't back off, and there's no reason why they should be. You're talking about using the power of your position to destroy the lives of those at the end of their childhoods, by spreading lies.
@drewmckevitt That would be a gross breach of academic ethics, grounds for revocation of tenure probably, and a lousy thing to do.

I don't know if you've been misguided or if you're toxic, but if the later label fits you, will you really deserve any better than what you end up getting?
@drewmckevitt But, hey, it's your choice, professor. Make it as you see fit.
@drewmckevitt And make it, he did. If you've made it to this point, you've probably seen all of the tweets in the thread above and know what I did say and what I did not. McKevitt chose to lie about that.

If he chooses to delete that tweet, no problem.
@drewmckevitt I took screenshots of it, which you can see here

and here

Let us note the failure of a line of historians to do a simple fact check, and then remember what they supposedly do for a living.
@drewmckevitt As a layman who has more than a faint interest in the subject of History, I am left with an uncomfortable question that I don't know how to answer: how much of the subject is fabricated?

People can't knowingly rally around a liar and hold onto their credibility.
