OK y'all there is A LOT going on right now on the shutdown crisis and the next 48 hours in the Senate are CRUCIAL. I'm going to try and run through it all and talk about where your voice is needed.
McConnell and Schumer have negotiated an agreement to bring TWO bills to the Senate floor on Thursday. Either bill needs sixty votes to pass.
The first bill is a Trump immigration bill. This is what he announced on Saturday. It's the wall, radical shifts to asylum policy, more money for cages and enforcement.
They're pretending this is a compromise. IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A COMPROMISE. The Senate must reject it.

The second bill is a Continuing Resolution to fund government at our current funding levels through Feburary 8th, ie, a "Clean CR."
This is a good bill. It would get workers paid and reopen the government. The Senate should pass it and stop this hostage crisis.

Right now, both bills are expected to fail but NOTHING IS CERTAIN.
Dems could fold on the wall bill (and we're hearing some very troubling whispers that some Dems are going wobbly).
R's could fold on the clean CR (they SHOULD be scared to vote against it).

That means that the next 48 hours are absolutely critical. You need to call your Senators right now.

Why are calls so important? Here's a long version. But short version is, legislators use the ratio of pro/anti- calls to their offices to assess if they're winning the messaging fight. Senators will be watching their calls for the next day very carefully.
This is especially important because we KNOW nativist pro-Trump groups are working hard to drive calls to the Senate and the House.
We have got to counter that. D's need to know we have their backs. R's need to see they can't win this fight so that they'll reopen government.
