JUST IN: DOJ asks the judge in the Maryland transgender military ban case, Stone v. Trump, to stay the injunction so "the Department of Defense may begin implementing" the Mattis ban policy. documentcloud.org/documents/5694… 
This follows Tuesday's #SCOTUS orders staying injunctions in two other challenges to the Trump administration's policy: buzzfeednews.com/article/chrisg… / The Maryland case injunction, which is as to Trump's initial ban, is the last remaining injunction before DOD can implement the ban.
As @dominicholden noted yesterday, even the lawyers for the challengers to the ban have acknowledged that the trial court in Maryland should at least stay the nationwide injunction in the Maryland case i the wake of the #SCOTUS orders.
In today's filing, DOJ asks for "an expedited ruling on this motion."
In sum: The Trump administration has now asked a federal court to quickly halt enforcement of the last injunction against the transgender military ban issued by Mattis so that DOD can begin implementing the ban.
