And, yes, as someone noted, A&B do regularly in their filings — at SCOTUS as well — just refer to the subpoenaed corporation, wholly owned by a foreign country, as “Country A.”
This seems to me to be a pretty transparent attempt to argue, through the language they choose, that the company is inseparable from the country (as part of their Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act argument).

Update: In the matter of the Trump administration's would-be transgender military service ban, the plaintiffs in the last remaining injunction on Wednesday filed their response to the DOJ motion to stay the injunction. documentcloud.org/documents/5708…
"Plaintiffs do not oppose a stay of the nationwide effect of this Court’s preliminary injunction pending appeal," the lawyers write. They do, however, argue that the injunction should remain in effect as to the specific named plaintiffs.
When, at the least, the nationwide injunction in this case is stayed — as both sides agree is appropriate in light of the SCOTUS orders — the military will be free to start implementing the Mattis policy, which would ban nearly all trans people from joining the military.

In Louisiana a law was created for "a physician performing or inducing an abortion” to “have active admitting privileges at a hospital that is located not further than thirty miles from the location at which the abortion is performed..." 2/
If this law sounds familiar that's because Texas did the exact same thing but it was struck down by the Supreme Court in 2016. 3/

Here's what that bill does and how it happened:

#SCOTUS keeps veil over much of mystery company's grand jury fight believed linked to Mueller, but there are some new nuggets.... politico.com/story/2019/01/…
One is that prosecutors (apparently Mueller ones) asked Chief Judge Howell to fine the company $10,000 a day for defying the subpoena. She decided $50,000 was more appropriate.
Another is that reporters weren't the only ones shooed away from the closed-door oral arguments at the D.C. Circuit on this last month. The firm's own lawyers were excluded while prosecutors made their case to the judges. Very unusual.

☹️Worried about fair voting access? Justified. The #SCOTUS conservative majority has consistently upheld state laws that brazenly suppress voting. Last year, they allowed OH to purge voters from the rolls and in the process protected similar laws in 6 states. BUT THERE IS HOPE!
🙂With different leadership in state legislatures, proposals that restrict voting access would be DOA. & with new majorities in purple or even red states, those same legislative chambers can protect voting! That's already happened in blue-majority states WA & OR. #whystatesmatter
