I have synesthesia which means I can "taste" words. Ask me what your name tastes like.
Hours of fun! Even better when my sister is here, as she has the condition too.
This was great fun last night, but at 2.30am I had to stop and go to bed. I'll try and answer some more this morning. If I don't respond then it's probably cos your name has been "done".
For those interested, my sister's synesthesia has an added quirk. She sees "personalities" and genders attached to numbers and letters. As a child, she'd get annoyed that no-one could understand that "Seven fancies four", and Nine is a bloke.
Argh, I REALLY need to go and write about nuclear war, but I can't stop tasting all you lovely people. (Except the Edwards and Donalds. Yuck. Edward makes me feel I'm ruffling a small man's hair, but he has dandruff, and Donald is a rubber duck dipped in vinegar.)

My definitions: A feature is an embellishment which can make a product better, while the hook is the core experience that drives users to the product. Think of features as the asterisk icons on the back of a video game box. 2/10
A friend pitched me an app idea using shared identity across apps with addictive ad-clicking behavior for revenue. He said he would play that all the time on his phone to level up. I asked “play what?” He had no answer because he focused on the features but not the hook. 3/10

Here I was, about to talk about what Democrats did right last night and here we are with a crisis in day 1 of Lame Duck.
It’s no surprise that Trump is acting against Mueller now: two months hence he is looking at a House with subpoena power and relentless interest in his criminality. Yesterday, he needed squishy GOP and “both sides” press to disassociate his allies from his abuses of power.
Today, Trump has a lame duck session full of people who have no shame and no decency and no costs left to pay. Organizing as much of the government under his sway into an ironclad protection racket is precisely what any crook would do when the walls start closing in.

Even though creative work is about persistence far more than it's about inspirational breakthroughs, there are times when it just gets to you. To me. My work has stalled in the last year or more. I hope others can relate to this thread of the dark side and coming into the light.
2/ My work in progress for the last 20 years (not a typo) has been off and on, manic and dead in the water. #TheTenorBook, my sin, my soul - well, not really. But not *not* either. Far and away the most complex task I've ever set myself.
3/ Life got in the way *many* times and not just a little, but a lot. I tried to walk away from it half a dozen times. Path, not destination, I told myself. But every single time I'd review the photographs, re-read the interviews, I knew my drive to tell the story remained.

here’s the #ThaiCaveRescue thread for today. the rescue was paused last night to resupply oxygen, but divers are said to be entering the cave again “soon.”
now we’re at the multilingual school that half of the boys attend, about to hear from staff and classmates.
Teacher at Mae Sai Prasitsart School: “We have to prepare ourselves for when the boys return. We will follow the guidelines of mental health professionals.”
