Oh, hey: it looks as if in Howard Schultz, we’ve found the one guy who heard of multimillionaire racist Oculus founder Palmer Luckey’s border-surveillance company — named Anduril — and liked the idea.

It gets exhausting to see politics covered as a contest between two indistinguishable sides — teams with unknowable intentions or beliefs, whose differences come down to mere clashes of personalities.

Even if politics ever did work that way (I doubt it), it doesn’t in 2019.
To cover Trump as a gay-friendly Republican was always ludicrous — as facts from since the days after his election win have borne out. cnn.com/2019/01/22/pol…

Pretty clear this ginned-up outrage against Broward officials originates in a coordinated Republican effort.

What comes next — Brooks Brothers Riot II: Electric Boogaloo?
I think what galls me most when Republicans say Democrats will turn the country into Venezuela — or Central America, or what have you — is how the same Republicans turn around and pull straight-up banana republic 💩.

This has to be an incomparably tough time for the journalists of the Post, but the event at the center of these tough times makes this with saying:

Nah, y’all are at war now.
Same for the NYT: in a real sense — nonpartisan, but still real — the forces the administration represents see you as the opposition, whether you accept that perception or not.
I don’t say this as a Democrat, or as a liberal in the partisan sense. I say this as someone committed to the liberal (to use that in the nonpartisan sense) project of inquiry — the centuries-long tradition in which journalists do their best to establish the facts …

Hey, let's talk about how Howard Schultz's disastrous campaign for the presidency is glaring evidence of our misconceptions about wealth, but also an example of just how broken our system is and has been since our founding.

For starters, Schultz’s cluelessness is a symptom of just how poisonous the culture of wealth is. With enough money you can surround yourself with sycophants whose entire purpose is to reassure your perceptions. This weakens thought, which we’ve seen with Trump. 2/
But we’ve come to associate wealth with intelligence and capability. This has been a side-effect of the myth of fair capitalism. We see winners and losers as determined by money instead of talent. 3/

Tucker Carlson now claiming his source never got around to telling him that Mueller's offer of immunity to Tony Podesta was only for the Manafort DC trial, not the VA one for FARA violations.

I guess it just slipped the sources' mind.
If it turns out everybody ran around Twitter for 4 days tearing their hair out over a #FakeNews story from Fox News, I'm gonna just sit here and laugh my ass off.
This source waits until 5 names get made public, and Podesta's is not on that list to 'clarify' to Tucker "Oh hey sorry bro, I meant that OTHER trial over there, not this one here."
