It gets exhausting to see politics covered as a contest between two indistinguishable sides — teams with unknowable intentions or beliefs, whose differences come down to mere clashes of personalities.
Even if politics ever did work that way (I doubt it), it doesn’t in 2019.

(And Parker is right: the trans ban is not about military fighting strength, readiness, cost, or whatever other excuses the administration trots out.)
