So without going into everything we can prove about Brookings and Huawei, let's give a brief run down. Start with the @isaacstonefish summed up nicely with "Brookings praised Huawei’s technology in a report sponsored by Huawei." 1/n washingtonpost.com/opinions/2018/…
The Huawei funded report about Huawei technlogy was headlined by a gentleman named Darrell West who is a VP in the Governance program at Brookings 2/n brookings.edu/wp-content/upl…
West gave many speeches and talk at length about Huawei stating publicly "senior member of a prestigious US think tank has predicted the US government will eventually cave in and roll out the red carpet to Chinese networking giant Huawei..." 3/n theregister.co.uk/2014/06/17/hua…
""I think the way that Huawei has been singled out by the US government has been unfair and counterproductive," said West, at the Huawei-sponsored conference." theregister.co.uk/2014/06/17/hua…
When speaking at Huawei Innovation Day (yet another engagement) he highlighted Singapore as from the study he wrote for Huawei funded by Huawei as a leader in Smart City technology. telecom.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/india-sho…
Now take a guess...a wild uneducated guess...who Singapore was using for Smart City technology? If you aren't picking up the theme yet, you're either a 50 center or not that bright enterpriseinnovation.net/article/huawei…
Huawei even highlighted their partnership doing this work with Singapore on their website but somehow this was not mentioned in the report West did for Brookings, I'm sure due to profound intellectual dedication and impeccable ethics huawei.com/us/industry-in…
There is more but let's stop there. Primary point: no this is absolutely not the work of an unbaised analyst but a Phd doing PR work. Note: there are people at Brookings and connected persons that do good work. This however, is enormous ethical problem on many levels. Done.
Anyone that wants to come at me for pointing this out repeatedly: come at me and saying this is disgraceful. Bring it. Mind you, there are pictures and information being held in reserve for when the time is right. So yea, bring it
