I see lots of talk about this piece where the Chinese ambassador to Canada plays the race card but I think there is a key element that is being overlooked here when he uses terms like "white supremacy". A foundational Beijing argument is that 1/n hilltimes.com/2019/01/09/dou…
Beijing (CCP within China, China throughout the world) trump everything. As I remind people, "Middle Kingdom" does not mean like the middle seat in a car but rather the center of a universe around which everything else rotates. With regards to religion, Beijing claims 2/n
The right to determine who gets reincarnated, who is appointed, and even what holy scriptures say. This matters because it conflicts with the primacy of breaking another countries law, whether it is a law recognized by both countries (murder) or not like (Iran exports). 3/n
When the ambassador says "white supremacy" he is referring not just to race baiting terminology, but rather to Beijing fundamental belief that the the west/developed countries view their system and beliefs as over Beijing values or laws. A primary argument in the Meng case 4/n
is that Huawei exported to Iran but that is only against US law not others so it shouldn't matter. In other words, Beijing's dictats are supreme to what other countries laws or beliefs are. Beijing does not want to be bound by the laws of other countries or international 5/n
organizations. Here he is partially right and nobody in Canada or the United States should apologize. Beijing actively supports repression not just within China but around the world. North Korea, Syria, and Iran are low hanging fruit. Beijing calls refusing to support 6/n
those regimes as "white supremacy" by having laws to prevent support going to them. People need to recognize Beijing's desire to remake international and domestic laws that better suit Beijing. They consider any refusal to go along "white supremacy". Done
