Irish PM told Mrs May on phone call that the latest developments in the Commons “had reinforced the need for a backstop”, acc to Dublin statement...
If you’re a glass half full type I suppose you could dwell on “a” backstop rather than “the backstop”....
Dublin’s message though appears to show little give here.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar told his own parliamentarians in Dublin tonight that “strong solidarity” from EU partners “have added steel to our resolve” on the backstop.

Leaving Brussels - belief on EU side that Corbyn letter to PM is a “game changer” mentioned to PM directly by Tusk and Verhofstadt. Why? Because the people that matter here are unconvinced that the PM can deliver a majority of Commons having been previously promised one.
Eg readout from senior EU official - Tusk raised “promising” Corbyn letter with PM today:

“Juncker expressed his openness to add wording to the Political Declaration agreed by the EU27 and the UK in order to be more ambitious in terms of content and speed when it comes to the future relationship between the European Union and the UK”
“Add wording to political declaration” falls short of legally binding change to Withdrawal Agreement - but still shows some willingness to talk. Barclay and Barnier will meet on Monday...
Though the promise of another meeting by end of Feb - possibly at EU-Arab summit - will surely mean the Government will attempt to delay the real meaningful vote return beyond that, into March...

And then a rather controversial Withdrawal Agreement Bill to pass too before Mar 29

But Labour MPs are now expecting a Corbyn email to members mentioning public vote policy still stands - difference seems to be whether if the PM rejects this, whether Labour immediately move to PV

+ what she says might do.

TL;DR: There is no Plan B.

What she won’t do:
Revoke Art. 50 (that’s just rude);
Extend Art.50 (so No Deal remains live);
Call a 2nd referendum (she doubts it’ll win)*

* Though she doesn't completely rule out the possibility of Parliament bringing this forward.

What she might do post-Brexit:
Take lessons from her mistakes in these negotiations when it comes to negotiating the future relationship.
She’ll be more inclusive: ‘engaging’ with elected reps from NI (and [randomly] English regions), & businesses & other normal people.

#DisclosuresTribunal Patrick Marrinan SC, for the tribunal, has resumed questioning Callinan. Marrinan raises minutes of pre-PAC meetings in Jan 2014 show Sgt McCabe and Ms D were discussed. Callinan says it does appear minutes show 'motivation' was also discussed
#DisclosuresTribunal Asked about Andrew McLindon's proposal to say something positive about whisteblowers at PAC meeting (where he made 'disgusting' remark) Callinan: My view was if somebody witnesses wrongdoing or wishes to report wrongdoing they should be strongly supported.
#DisclosuresTribunal Marrinan asks Callinan if he spoke to Brian Purcell before PAC. Callinan says he did. Asked about the conversation, Callinan says: "Not sure there was any great detail...apart from awareness that I was appearing before the PAC and he was aware..."
