This from a govt. that doesn’t care about democracy at home. Lies about “voter fraud” to block poor folks of color from voting, commits horrific human rights violations on its border, and shills for fossil fuel and other oligarchs. 2/11

“It will make a big difference to the U.S. economically if we could have American oil companies invest in and produce the oil capabilities” says Bolton. They don’t even pretend any more. 3/11

Mnuchin says: “Many of our friends in the Middle East will be happy to make up the [oil] supply as we push down Venezuela’s supply.” Translation: Saudi Arabia. 4/11

This is classic U.S. imperialism, just like toppling Guatemala’s govt. to help United Fruit and backing coup in Honduras to serve palm oil and mineral interests. 5/11

But here’s what’s different – Trump team is a wholly-owned subsidiary of big oil in both domestic & foreign policy. That would be bad at any time. But it's really bad in a 2019 post-IPCC report world. 6/11
