Mystery company fighting Mueller subpoena:

-Wholly owned by a foriegn government (court docs)
-Has business in the US (court docs)
-Financial institution (per WaPo)
-Represented by Alston & Bird (per BuzzFeed and CNN)
So let's put this together: A financial institution owned fully by a foreign government, with biz in the US, rep'd by Alston & Bird.
Alston & Bird represented the Russia govenment as recently as 2014.
It is NOT:

-Alfa Bank
-VTB
-Sberbank
-Deutsche Bank
-Bank of Cyprus
-Gazprom
-Rosneft
This leaves two clear frontrunners:

-Vnesheconombank (VEB) - CEO met with Kushner during transition
-Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) - Official met with Cohen during transition

August 2: Gates and Manafort meet with Kilimnik, share polling data. Kilimnik is the go-between for Manafort-Deripaska.
August 3: Don Jr, Erik Prince, George Nader meet Joel Zamel to discuss a social media manipulation effort to help Trump. Deripaska previously hired Zamel.
August 4: Deripaska's plane (carrying Kilimnik), lands in Moscow after making a quick trip to NY.
August 5: Deripaska and Russian Deputy PM Prikhodko secretly meet on a yacht in Norway and are recorded discussing US-Russia relations.
These are probably the most important 96 hours in the Mueller investigation.

BREAKING: Trump transition official Paul Erickson indicted for wire fraud and money laundering thedailybeast.com/paul-erickson-…
Feds were allegedly considering indicting Erickson on "espionage-light" charges relating to Russia... He appears to have escaped those charges, at least for now.
Indictment makes clear that Erickson laundered some money to pay for Butina's college, which completely destroys the narrative that he had pushed about the mysterious "Bridges LLC" which was to pay for Butina's college...

When I was still in the @FBI, I found the numerous write-ups for me being nominated for the Director’s Award ($10k). The one which was finally awarded had cut my name out & pasted Brown’s name into it, while leaving my accomplishments in.
I was shocked & pissed as I liked John & worked well with him. When I found this, I was in the middle of vicious retaliation for filing my EEO case. This illustrates how things worked under Mueller and McCabe et al.

Update in the mystery grand jury matter: Both sides now agree that the foreign country-owned company’s supplemental brief at #SCOTUS can be filed in unredacted form. (So, I’d imagine that means we’ll be able to read it. Soon? I’m checking.)
Recall that last Friday, we learned, definitively from a DC Circuit filing and the district court docket who the lawyers are: It's Alston & Bird for the foreign country-owned company and lawyers with the special counsel's office. Thread:
Cross-referencing the district court, DC Circuit, and SCOTUS dockets, it seems likely that the supplemental brief at #SCOTUS relates to a series of rulings — from the dist ct on 1/15 & 1/24 & the DC Cir on 1/29 — that appear to relate to accrual and enforceability of fines.
