A quick thread on pharma companies and #COVID19. These are tough times, and it's worth the reminder that *all* biopharma companies have patient assistance programs that more generous and easier to access than most people think.

(In the interest of disclosure, some of the names I mention may be #clients, but I'm not tweeting in support of any one company, announcement or program. I just want to make sure there is as much awareness as possible.)

Here are some companies that are specifically highlighting efforts they're making given the COVID-19 related disruption:

Stuff They Don’t Tell You: Client Relationships

- A Thread
1. Promote yourself shamelessly

No self-respecting client is going to take you for that coffee unless they’ve heard of you already, or at the very least seen examples of your work.
Making sure they've seen your work is your responsibility. Make a website, get vocal on Twitter, curate the hell out of your Instagram feed, send a CV and some samples of your work in the mail. Sign up to LinkedIn even and stop sleeping on it.

Freelancers: how long you need to execute the *work* and long it will take to complete the *project* are two different things.

It might take me 2 weeks *worth of hours* to do the work, but that might be stretched over 4 weeks of actual calendar time.

This is a fundamental mistake most freelancers don't even realize they're making. Yet, it frequently results in misaligned expectations.

You've got to communicate this key difference to your clients. The timeline in your proposal should be TOTAL estimated calendar time. (2/4)
On any given #freelance project, you've got to account for delays, revisions, communication, downtime, and weekends. If your timeline estimate doesn't factor in these variables in some way, you're setting you and your client up for a stressful situation or even failure. (3/4)

My current #Working #Research #Topic: "A Review of the #CommonMonetaryArea of #SouthernAfrica: Are Client Countries Better-off De-Linking from the #Anchor #Economy?". I'm using #OptimumCurrencyArea #OCA #Theory to analyse the #CMA arrangement. Draft will be ready January end..!
The #CommonMonetaryArea of #SouthernAfrica or #CMA could seem to some (mostly the technically inclined) to be a no-brainer & a clear natural #OptimumCurrencyArea given the historical links between the #anchor #SouthAfrica & the #clients (#Lesotho #Eswatini & #Namibia)...
Be that as it may, 2020 marks 46 years since the #RandMonetaryArea - #RMA agreement and 34 years since the RMA was revised to establish the #CommonMonetaryArea - #CMA between #SouthAfrica, #Lesotho, Swaziland (now, #Eswatini) and #Namibia...

#Neuroscientists worldwide are increasingly studying #myelin and its amazing impact on rapid #learning, mastery, and neuroplasticity. So keep your circuits strong with deep, focused practice, but remember: #myelination requires quality versus quantity.
What Is #Myelination?
Myelination is the process of “insulating” a new neural pathway to strengthen it and to forge new default #behaviors. Heavily myelinated neural pathways are up to 300 times faster.
They’ve been optimized for speed and #efficiency. Increasing #myelination via intentional #practice helps us become more emotionally agile.

A #data informed look at how the #human experience of #lawyering has changed over time.

Just as #clients need better #value propositions, #law firms need better business models. Meaningful #legal #transformation will occur where the two intersect.…
H/T to @augierakow @robsaccone for the post #inspirelegal 🤓 email chain that #inspired this tweetable.

(Bc I’m a tweetable factory. 🤷🏻‍♀️)
Another reaction to this @wihender post: we NEED to deal with #automation anxiety in #legal.

Legacy models of law practice aren’t built for the pace of #business and volume of #information of the #digital age.

More #hours from more #lawyers can’t be the default answer.
