@mgranville1 These arguments by Sanders don’t even make sense.

First, the Hispanic Member of Congress from that district opposed it. Real progressives would not do that to a majority-minority Hispanic community because it is the definition of environmental racism. (2)

He should look at an election map of Texas. Here is one from 2008.

The nuclear waste dump was to be placed in Sierra Blanca, a majority, low-income Hispanic community in the blue county in far West Texas on the map. (3)

@mgranville1 So, Texas was willing to take money to jam nuclear waste shipped in from Vermont into a poor Hispanic community along the border.

How is that fair? Texas Republicans were fine with sticking waste into a blue county in the midst of a sea of red.

That is discrimination. (4)
