Cory Booker's quote here is the worst: "We should not be doing anything to mess with the strength of the filibuster. It’s one of the distinguishing factors of this body. And I think it is good to have the power of the filibuster.”
But frankly neither Warren nor Sanders is that much better (they basically dodge the issue). I just don't see how anyone plans to get any real progress without abolishing the filibuster.
So long as you're not willing to confront that issue, you're not really serious about change.

By all means, stick with the "I'm socially liberal, fiscally sadistic" party line. B/c that's worked out so well for everyone over the years.
But as a member of the professional upper middle class, I do wonder about these polls. I don't know anyone in this group that says, "I love my healthcare plan at work so much." Frankly I don't know anyone who even says "I like it." I'm open to the empirical evidence but it's
the kind of thing that I wonder if surface polling can really capture (as the polling that Brownstein digs deeper into also shows, incidentally).

There's something that I keep seeing that leads me to believe we aren't going to pull off a blue wave at midterms, or win back the White House in 2020. GOP has a "win at any cost" mentality. Not just tactics, but funding.
I applaud every candidate on the Dem side who is running a campaign purely on the donations of their constituents. It's a relief to see that in some places candidates can raise enough to do this. Though wouldn't it be great if we had a system where money wasn't a factor at all?
What is bothering me is there are some amazing, progressive candidates out there in really tough races, in expensive markets, who need more money to compete, plain and simple. And when they take donations the far left doesn't like they are immediately disqualified.

Refuse corp money? That would be unilateral disarmaerment when we need every penny we can get to get Republicans out of power. Republicans must laugh their asses off when they see us do this. Citizens United is the law & because Trump controls the SCOTUS - we're fucked

The ONLY way we get money out of politics is to FIRST win back the White House, the Senate and the House. Then, AFTER we get majority control - then we go about amending the Constitution but without money - we will NEVER keep control long enough to change the Constitution
I don't know about you - but I don't have personal money to give to grifters like Bernie Sanders who claim to be above corporate donations but then take our money, build third houses and hide their tax returns.
