February means #OpusDailyPractice, our local fine art supply store organizing prompts & meetup (opusartsupplies.com/odp)
I’m far from home, but I have a sketchpad & pens and I’m still trying to be less shy about my art, so let’s do this. 💚

This feels like approximately a zillion variations of sedimentary textures (alluvial beds).
I had fun playing with miniscule variations in pen widths (💚 those microns!) for today’s #OpusDailyPractice #geology #sciart

Basins upon basins upon basins of sediment, all wedged between crystalline rock. No surprise it’s a nightmare for amplifying & echoing seismic waves.
I like the ash layers between lava flows & the sediment grading.
