No, Trump's #SOTU won't be "visionary." Or unifying or gracious or even presidential. If he manages to read words to that effect, you know they're hollow. He's a one-trick bully—he agitates & manipulates. He has no persuasion skills. That takes honesty & credibility. He has zero.
We'll go thru the #SOTU motions—the speech, the clapping. It's always theater, but w/ Trump it's ONLY theater. Some will try to find something redeeming in this failed presidency. I see the rituals more like placeholders for the day we have a POTUS worthy of who+what America 🇺🇸is

So that was the religious extremists’ “killing babies” agitprop portion of the #Sotu. Truly breathtakingly anti-woman after he just lauded more women in Congress. He actually said Northam advocates “executing babies.” And Republicans clapped. And now he’s onto “socialism” BS 🙄

Trump’s most ridiculous moment at #Sotu was when he did his Johnny Cochran imitation: “If there is going to be peace and legislation, there cannot be war and investigation.” Right after threatening Congress for “ridiculous partisan investigations”—of him😬
There was so much offensive in Trump’s #SOTU speech. The blatant lies, the tawdry parading of crime victims, his obscene fear-mongering & Orwellian ‘tolerance is cruelty.’ And that mafia threat about “ridiculous” investigations. On top of everything else, the guy’s just a lowlife
After 2 yrs of blows to our democracy, they still shock. It was especially jarring to hear Trump's dictator BS in the People's House. This clip captures both his "ridiculous investigations" lob AND the disgraceful Republicans who stood up & roared to applaud their mob boss. #SOTU
