The animal pelts in the common areas was a dead giveaway to me that we were going a different direction at some point.

I would like to talk to the real estate agent who put the house on the market, though. Get their initial reactions as they walked through and had their “open for a surprise” moment in the basement.

And the decision, I’m guessing, to leave the basement “as is.”
$750 a night is a steal, actually. And if you just want the.... um.... “bonus room”.... it sounds like you get a discount. I’m dying to read the reviews...

After national outlets finally began picking up the story, local outlets started providing weak explanations. The @ajc (Atlanta's major paper) “both sided” the incident by comparing white supremacists to Democratic socialists. Because, you know, dog whistle. #TeamAbrams

Let's talk about the precarious position in which people of color and underrepresented communities are placed with this mess, all of which could have been avoided. This will be a #thread.
First, @NewYorker didn't have to give white supremacist Steve Bannon a platform to begin with. The conversation really should have started and ended there. They really tried it.

And then Remnick with that whole "I thought about it and..." BS. So you were NOT thinking before?
Second, @NewYorker KNEW they were living foul because they told NO ONE. Even the venue was like... "huh? what? WHO?!" Which tells you that the New Yorker knew this was the wrong call to make but thought they could survive the blowback. But then...

1/ I want to point out this thread has a good example of what happens during "reverse engineering": we frequently encounter inexplicably weird things that turn out to have perfectly straightforward explanations.
2/ It's where we are trying to figure things out that while we are "familiar" with the thing, we aren't "comfortable" with it -- meaning we know the facts but not the nuance.
3/ We then go up blind allies, where confirmation bias makes us keep going in that direction even when we've hit a dead end. We eventually back out and go a different direction, but this self-reinforced reasoning makes this take longer.

May. Mumbai. I rocked up at the venue more out of casual interest. On joining a queue 2 km long I noticed enthusiasts who had arrived there as though their lives depended on them. Some with their mothers holding Prasad, other rebels who had braved odds and traveled alone.
I joined the queue at 7 AM. There were people who had arrived at 5 AM. Others who had camped overnight. False notion that early arrival = early audition. No one from the crew to dispel such notions. Gate opens 1 PM.

The Airtel/K2 transaction is neither a merger nor acquisition. It's a brand endorsement arrangement, were K2 entered into agreement allowing @Airtel_Ug to use her Trademark, Brand name (K2 Telecom) & Resources to market @K2Telecom products & services to customers @UCC_Official
Under the Brand Endorsement Agreement, K2 customers will continue enjoying the same or similar services with a different code prefix (0708). The customer migration will be voluntary. Customers will exercise their contractual right to either move to Airtel or not.

a few tips on making and presenting a storyboard portfolio (long thread alert)

Caveat: I'll try to be generic, but keep in mind that all the insight offered here is what *I* look for as a director. Other directors may care about the stuff I don't care about, and vice versa.
First is the thing everyone's banging on about: HAVE A WEBSITE WITH NAME & CONTACT INFO. The process of hiring usually goes like "hey you know anyone?" "ya, try this person" so it would be great if googling up "[name] storyboard" leads to a site that contains your storyboard work
It doesn't matter if you use Blogspot/Tumblr/your own. Just have a site that's easily accessed from anywhere when someone looks you up. As directors, we don't attend a formal meeting to go through portfolios, usually we get someone's name during lunch or while getting coffee.
