You proscribe organisations (but that’s difficult because GJ don’t have one) - perhaps you proscribe the underlying ones, though Irish style generic proscription (anything with the name “IRA” etc) might be possible >
Or you proscribe insignia, uniforms etc to limit their propaganda value. But when every car owner has to have one...

If you want to understand politics read, learn and write history. It’s a far better guide to politics than political science. 1/
2/ History teaches about power, and the people who use it. It uncovers the importance of luck, contingency and the individual will of people who hold it.
3/ It doesn’t offer rules and laws, because there aren’t any. At best there are tendencies and if we’re lucky guidelines.

Britain never really bought into the idea, but acquiesced in it for economic reasons, and even then only stayed with all kinds of special exceptions. It did so because 1/
Opponents of Britain’s membership ran an energetic campaign against it. Some of their arguments were honourable (different history, different perspective on world etc.) but others rested on myths and self-deception 2/
The biggest myth was that they were only joining a “common market” and political union was subsequently foisted upon an unwilling British public.

In fact the debate in the 60s and 70s involved plenty of discussion of its role bringing peace to Europe 3/

British media reporting has paid far too much attention to social power: journalists from respected papers and broadcast outlets regularly twist rubbish to fit boundaries of the acceptable. 1/
My favourite example today: the guardian reporting Weyand’s rejection of alternatives to the backstop as “playing down”.

It takes exceptional bloody mindedness to stand up to the conventional wisdom, when everyone from the ERG to Gina Miller is peddling unicorns. 2/
And when people, like Nick Boles, get attacked from all sides for acknowledging that a Norway option means accepting freedom of movement,it’s not surprising most of them prefer a quiet life.

The EU however operates under different conventions and power structures/3

Irish High Court was asked by Polish Gov to extradite Mr Celmer under EU law for trial on drug charges. Irish judge ruled Poland’s Gov has seriously undermined rule of law by taking political control over judges (agreeing with Euro Commission) 2/
So Irish Court asked Court of Justice of EU to rule on # approach Irish Court should take. AG opinion is advice to CJEU on how CJEU should rule. Mostly CJEU takes that advice, but not always. 3/

A movie ws screened; it didn't fit the liking of #Communists; so they snapped the wire& descended on students watching movie 2 spill blood evrywhr.
Mohit Pandey, JNUSU's ex presi& a Red goon crushed leg of a hapless guard, beat female guard &tore female students' clothes. #JNU
When the Red goons tore off several female students' clothes in the scuffle, students who came to watch the movie came to the latter's rescue. Goons employed their age old tactic here 2- forwarding their female cadre to clash with boys in anticipation of playing molestation card.
The male guard was run over by a Honda City car which broke his bone. The female guard was punched on the chest bone. Crying, she told how Mohit Pandey would often caution the guards 2 'stay within limits'. "Aukaat mein raho tumlog" is what this Goon wud say to guards.

Turns out that sampling a distribution function with 10 tracers is tricky. Small number statistics are a pain and the uncertainties on the velocities of the 10 globular clusters studied in the paper are of order the intrinsic velocity dispersion. #tricky
