I didn't think I was going to need to do this but......

Y'all, we need to talk about Lori Lightfoot. She has spent the last several months pretending she was the most progressive candidate for mayor and just picked up an Sun-Times endorsement but:

LIGHTFOOT IS NOT A PROGRESSIVE
Lori Lightfoot served as Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois in the criminal division from 1996–2002.
This was before this current wave of "progressive prosecutors" (which is bullshit but we'll save that for another day), meaning she used to send people to prison, which is.....SUPER PROGRESSIVE. 🧐
Lightfoot once lied in court to wrongfully deport someone. Lars Erik Lindstrom, was deported because Lightfoot, acting as assistant U.S. Attorney, deliberately misled a judge. She was reprimanded for misconduct by a federal court court of appeals for this. fedcrimlaw.com/visitors/punch…
With issues like Chicago's status as sanctuary city & the use of the Gang Database being central to this election, how can anyone with a call Lightfoot a progressive with a straight face when she was willing to lie in court to get someone deported?
Lightfoot has spent 20 years overseeing police reform in Chicago, the current state of CPD is a testament to her failures.
Lightfoot was tasked to be the Chief Administrator of the Office of Police Standards (OPS) by Richard Daley. OPS was so plagued with corruption that the city had to rebrand it as IPRA in 2007. This was one of several positions Lightfoot held in Daley’s corrupt administration.
"A 2007 Tribune investigation of more than 200 police shooting cases covering the previous decade concluded that cursory Police Department investigations of officer shootings created a separate standard of justice for those officers."

This included Lightfoot's time at OPS.
Working for law firm Mayer Brown, Lori Lightfoot DEFENDED police against brutality lawsuits.
In 2009, Lori Lightfoot helped get Chicago police Officer Paul Powers off in a high-profile case involving four men who said they were beaten by Powers and other off-duty officers in a 2006 incident caught on security video at the Jefferson Tap in the Loop.
In 2013, Lightfoot defended CPD in a lawsuit filed by the family of Christina Eilman, she was arrested at Midway during a mental health crisis. Christina was released without assistance several miles away, abducted & sexually assaulted before plummeting from a 7th-floor window.
Rahm Emanuel hired Lori Lightfoot to defend the city from the families lawsuit. In 2013, the city of Chicago settled the lawsuit with a $22.5 million settlement, the largest Chicago has ever paid to an individual.
Two years after Lori Lightfoot defended CPD in the lawsuit filed by the family of Christina Eilman, Rahm Emanuel appointed Lori Lightfoot to head the Chicago Police Board.
In 2015, IPRA recommended that Chicago Police Officer Dante Servin be fired for murdering Rekia Boyd. Servin shot 22 year old Rekia Boyd in the head while off duty.

Lori Lightfoot and the Police Board did nothing about Servin and he was allowed to resign and keep his pension.
Lori Lightfoot can be seen here on the left with a smug ass look her face as activists demand justice for Rekia Boyd who was murdered by Chicago Police Officer Dante Servin.

Lightfoot & the Police Board did nothing about Servin and he was allowed to resign and keep his pension
While serving as the head of the police board, Lori LIghtfoot and the Police Board did nothing to answer the calls for justice from the families of Rekia Boyd, Ronald Johnson, Quintonio LeGrier or Bettie Jones who were killed by Chicago Police Officers.
In 2016, Lightfoot chastised the families of Ronald Johnson, Rekia & Bettie Jones at a Police Board hearing because of the language that they used, she even threatened to have them physically removed from the meeting.
These people had their loved one’s killed in cold blood by CPD and Lori Lightfoot, this so called “police reformer”, couldn’t even empathize with their pain. Super "progressive". 🧐
Lightfoot is a prosecutor that has overseen failed police oversight, in what world does that qualify her to run the 3rd largest US city?

The issues she is most "progressive" on, she has no record. As I've displayed, the issues she does have a record on don't show a progressive
Lightfoot came out against Rahm's $95 million police academy but at the same time said that CPD “desperately needs” a new academy, someone is talking out of both sides of their mouth.

It's not just the process the #NoCopAcademy campaign is protesting, it's the idea itself.
Lightfoot is talking out of both sides of her mouth when she talks about gun violence, on one hand says we must address "root causes" on the other she talks about going hard on support for CPD to get guns off the streets. The later means more resources for cops, so which is it?
Lightfoot says that she would create a “Public Safety Oversight Board with oversight authority over CPD, COPA & the Police Board.”, after failing to hold CPD accountable for 20 years, does anyone actually believe she can create a space meaningful civilian oversight?
The idea that we were supposed to rally around Lori Lightfoot to dethrone Rahm was ridiculous. Now that Rahm is out of the picture, the idea that we're still supposed to rally around Lightfoot insulting.

Rahm, put Chicago through hell, we deserve better.
