1/ This is an example of how AOC's understanding of the science is less than that of Trump -- which is quite an achievement. Yes, man's burning of fossil fuels is warming the climate, but it's not causing these disasters, at least not yet.
2/ Trump's been tweeting nonsense that this winter's cold weather means there's no global warming. But at the same time, the AOC crowd points to every drought, wildfire, and flood claiming they are caused by global warming. It's the same argument: anecdotes instead of science.
3/ The smarter AOC crowd says that while THIS drought/wildfire/flood may not be caused by manmade warming, it still shows how they are becoming more common. But here's the thing: they aren't becoming more common, at least not yet.
4/ The scientific consensus, as documented by the UN IPCC and other sources, are clear that such disasters aren't worse or more frequent, as far as we can tell.
5/ We need to deal with manmade warming, such as a carbon tax. But what AOC wants is a radical New Deal, which means exaggerating the science to convince people "the sky is falling". Overstating the science is just as much "denial" as understating it.
6/ Here is an example UN IPCC report, and what it says about droughts and floods here in North America.

7/ The report is clear that other things, like the melting Artic, requires we take climate change seriously. That's going to involve unpopular things like greatly increasing the price of gasoline. The Green New Deal will do little to solve the problem.
