FitzGibbon Sues The Institute For Public Accuracy For Alleged Defamation By Jesselyn Radack

Excerpt:

"In addition to the damage done to the personal reputations and lives of all involved, the issue has undeniably split the hacktivist and whistleblowing communities down lines of loyalty between FitzGibbon and Radack"
"In light of FitzGibbon and Radack’s mutual connections with, and support for, some of the most hunted whistleblowers and national-security targets on the planet, their legal battle is not merely a personal tragedy playing out in the press & staining reputations on social media."
"It has also torn the fabric of the whistleblowing/hacktivist community at large. For this reason, the multiple lawsuits and their consequences are relevant to the public interest, especially for those who support whistleblowers and the cause of truth."
FitzGibbon filed a suit against IPA for alleged defamation by JR in association with her Twitter account, which FG claims was endorsed by her employer, IPA.

In a separate ongoing suit, FG was granted a restraining order against JR, specifically in regards to social media posts.
Despite the restraining order, Radack has continued to tweet and retweet statements referencing her allegations against FitzGibbon.

Meanwhile, Radack has attempted to obtain multiple civil protection orders against Fitzgibbon in a separate Washington D.C. court, arguing in one such attempt that the documentation of Radack’s text messages to FitzGibbon in the latter’s complaint amounted to “revenge porn.”
These attempts were dismissed, in one such instance by Associate Judge J. Michael Ryan, who wrote:

Effectively, two separate judges in *different courts* have called Radack out: one granting a restraining order against her & another dismissing her attempts to get a protection order, the latter is pictured below.

To specify further: the screenshots and ruling linked above represent the dismissal of Radack's claims that FitzGibbon's initial complaint against her amounted to "revenge porn."

She attempted to get a civil protection order based on that claim: her attempt was dismissed.
