1. This conversation is hilariously bonkers. Can't believe they gave McAfee--D+ Political Philosophy 101 student--30 minutes to spout off just because he's rich, infamous, & maybe running for POTUS as a Libertarian. He made Schultz look like Isaiah Berlin. podcastone.com/episode/John-M…
2. The part I don't get is this--the host identifies as a libertarian. This is media intended to persuade people to take these ideas seriously. So why on earth would they publish this incoherent rant from a guy who mansplained JV libertarianism to the manly libertarian host?
3. Back in the Firing Line days Buckley used to interview all kinds of fringe figures and he'd ask them withering questions for the sake of airing ideas...but this podcast has the feel of a super-earnest Jack Kemp interviewing a coked up G. Gordon Liddy. It was a puff piece.
4. Now that The Federalist Radio Hour gave McAfee a platform to say his piece with zero pushback, I can't wait to see who the next guest will be--James Woods, Chuck Woolery, Pat Sajak, Roseanne Barr, Dilbert guy? Who says conservatives are no longer the ones with the big ideas?

Of course Roger Stone would be the trojan horse for smuggling 2 Live Crew back onto the national stage. FWIW, I think it's worth noting that Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" bears an uncanny resemblance to 2 Live's biggest hit.

I would just like to say that John Fanning Watson, the historian from "the olden days" who is the subject of this article that Soledad O'Brien is kindly promoting for me, would be totally fascinated by what's happening right now.
In 1829, Watson and his friend Deborah Norris Logan were sitting around in Deborah's house talking about the wonders of "modern improvements." They decided that while such things had advantages, ultimately "Canals and Rail-roads were almost overdone." Now do Twitter.
In 1830 there were 30 total miles of railroad tracks in the nation. That's not a typo. By 1860 there were 28,920. Nailed it Watson, nailed it.

In Kentucky one of Mitch's opponents adopted the slogan 'Ditch Cocaine Mitch' but many don't realize where the moniker came from. In 2014 Colombian inspectors boarded one of the ships owned by Mitches family & found drugs. The story came out but went very quiet.
The Coast Guard recently seized $500M worth of cocaine from smuggling boats. Most of it came from small boats but are we confident that ships owned by the Super wealthy, such as Mitch's family are being inspected? Not all drugs don't come from land most come from the High Seas...

If you want to kill people, the most effective way to do this in the modern era (since gun laws and annoying people like the Police will make things awkward) is to persuade people to stop (or never start) a statin.

Over the long term, 1 in 10 will be killed by that choice.
You can even write books about it and make money.
And be seen as a crusader against a crooked medicogovernmental conspiracy.
