Interesting -- IRS analyst John Fry told FBI in Nov. 26 interview that Ronan Farrow called him to verify information he had been provided by Avenatti. Avenatti gave Farrow the name of his source. dailycaller.com/2019/02/21/irs… @dailycaller
So Avenatti releases the info supplied by Fry, and Farrow swoops in and does a BS article trying to rationalize and justify Fry's rationale for leaking.
Maybe Avenatti returned the favor by publicizing Julie Swetnick after Farrow's Deborah Ramirez disaster

Christopher Steele's dossier claims that Michael Cohen's father in law is Russian and that his name is Efim Shusterman. The same Steele sub-source provided intel on Carter Page. But Cohen's FIL is Fima Shusterman, and he's Ukrainian. dailycaller.com/2019/02/25/mic… @dailycaller
BuzzFeed redacted out this part of the dossier. Top is an unredacted copy recently unsealed in the Gubarev case. Bottom is what BuzzFeed published.
Here's another section from the same memo, dated Oct. 18, 2016. BuzzFeed acknowledged in its initial writeup that the Bavrikha claim is wrong: it's not an enclave for the wealthy. BF didn't acknowledge that Shusterman was named & that that intel was inaccurate.

Lisa Page and Peter Strzok offered a detailed explanation of their "insurance policy" text message. Both claimed to Congress that they were debating whether to ramp up Crossfire Hurricane at the risk of exposing a "very sensitive" source.
Lisa Page said the source was a "longstanding" source. She also said FBI officials were worried that opening the source up to exposure might hurt future Russia-related investigations, though not so much the Trump probe.

IRS analyst John Fry leaked Michael Cohen financial documents to Michael Avenatti. He was also an anonymous source for Ronan Farrow for a ridiculous story that tried to justify the leak of the docs. dailycaller.com/2019/02/21/irs… @dailycaller
Farrow reported that the leaker was "motivated" to leak b/c some Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) were missing from Michael Cohen's file. Leaker (Fry) thought this was a cover up. Turns out that the docs were pulled b/c they were part of ongoing investigation. Irony.

@KaraScannell Per an affidavit from the Treasury Inspector General, Fry illegally leaked Cohen’s records to both Avenatti and @RonanFarrow, who used the leaks as the basis for error-ridden and inaccurate article claiming that Cohen’s bank records were “missing” from a government database.

Good interview with @securelyfitz about the Bloomberg chip hack story by @riskybusiness. Joe, a hardware hacking expert, was one of the named sources quoted in the piece. He discusses his discomfort with the story and skepticism about its accuracy. risky.biz/RB517_feature/
I spoke with Joe on Friday and he also told me no fact checkers from Bloomberg had contacted him to verify information he provided or even to verify his quote before the piece published. Apple also told me no fact checkers contacted them, as did Joe Grand, the other quoted source
As a point of comparison - for the New York Times magazine cover story I recently wrote about election security, I spent a week w/ two fact-checkers combing through every fact in the piece; they also called all quoted sources to verify their words and any facts they gave me.
