45’s asylum ban, family separation, etc, has all been to fabricate a narrative of a border crisis that doesn’t exist. Especially when people straight up are BBQing along the Rio Grande.
The ~real~ crises here has to do with astronomically high insurance rates, lack of clean water and infrastructure in the colonias, need for investment and care in education.
Poor quality education has been a long standing reality in Texas, and they choose to not do anything about it. As numbers of POC students increased, state legislature actually DIVESTED money from education, and stopped caring as much.
Texas is one of the few states that put people IN JAIL for not paying back their student debt 😨😩🤯
