Another term for “tyranny of the majority” is democracy. The real danger to democracy is tyranny by a minority faction, which is what Hamilton & Madison warned against in the Federaliat papers and why they created the Senate as a majority-rule institution.
The Founders did not put it there. This is a widespread misconception. To the contrary the Founders created the Senate as a majority-rule body and even created a backstop for the Senate to cut off filibusters with a majority-threshold procesural vote.
