Depression is real. Many of us suffer from it but don’t recognise it. It’s not taboo. It doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It’s like getting the flu, it’s an ailment. And it can be cured.

Often, we deal with our depression alone. Putting on a mask for others. So they don’t even know we need support. Which increases our aloneness.

Because disguising seems easier than sharing it. And so the cover-up continues.

There are many of us, out here, who’ve been through it and understand. We can help and support.

When you reach out you’ll have our strength to support you. And we’ll deal with it together.

You shouldn’t and you won’t be able to hide it forever.

There is a breaking point. And honestly, you don’t want to reach there.

But if you do, then that’s ok. We can begin healing even from there.

You are precious, you are loved. You are not alone.

Take it one day at a time. Be patient. With yourself and with the process. Stay connected to others love you and who will help. Life is good.
