Leaving aside the ultimate conclusion that Trudeau should dissolve Parliament (not my area of expertise - I express no opinion on this), I think this is a fair view of the JWR testimony and its implications:

And I go back to my first tweet on this - I was stunned when Trudeau spoke of JWR exit as if it was no big deal, and she then resigned from Cabinet. That struck me as a huge deal, and I think the government's handling of the story – with some deceptions and half-truths...
...along the way is almost as damning as the original problem that prompted it in the first place. How can we trust government's description of what happened if we can't trust their version of how they responded to what happened? JWR actions fit a much more believable narrative.

Binnie J. in Regan, 2002 SCC12. Not perfectly apposite, because I can't find a precedent for executive attempts to sway a decision made about an individual prosecution.
"Independence from other interests that may have a bearing on the prosecution, including the police and the defence". When political concerns eg., government's status in Quebec, are being raised as reasons to stop a prosecution, how can that not compromise independence of the AG?
I keep hearing about "the question is whether government attempts to influence crossed the line" and "where is that line"? I don't know exactly where "the line" is, but if JWR testimony is accurate, I think that line was well and truly crossed.

3. My underlying argument is that professional networking sites like @LinkedIn @Meetup & @XING_de are not just resources for practitioners to network for job opportunities, but also spaces where disciplinary expertise -- basically, what counts as worth knowing -- are deliberated!

1) This is a new concept of late. It’s come up a lot during the MeToo debate, but it’s also brought up in every discussion now on the left. The notion that you should shut up and not discuss issues concerning topic X, Y or Z. I think it’s a dangerous, anti-intellectual notion.
2) You’re generally not allowed to join the discussion or offer an opinion, unless you agree with the right side of the discussion and/or have the correct gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race or ethnicity.

I’m a member of a minority, and I think this is a bad idea.
3) Don’t get me wrong. Back in the day, we gays loved shutting down straight people who disagreed with us. We’d tell them they were straight, so they shouldn’t be lecturing us, and it would kill the conversation. But don’t think for a minute we didn’t know what we were doing.

The same number applies to almost any agricultural commodity.
Oh, and they only call themselves farmers when there's a reporter around.
The rest of the time they're "producers."
3. The business they are in is "production agriculture."
Years ago - I don't know how many years, but many - there were about 300,000 "producers" in American agribusiness. Those 300,000 people produce virtually our entire agricultural commodity products.
