Carlisle referencing her request for a public hearing on the Verizon lease. "Some people say that this is an appropriation of public property for private profit. The main issue is health safety. This is a huge issue in terms of the amount of microwaves that will be released."

"City parks and rec dept is not the entity to be deciding on something of this magnitude. I'm really surprised to find it on our consent agenda without other information attached to it."

Brautigam: This facility is not a 5G; it's communication facilities that we need to upgrade. I'm fine if you remove it from the agenda; I just don't want there to be a misunderstanding that city staff or PRAB is approving 5G without council knowing about it.

Carlisle quoting someone whose name I didn't catch, but is apparently an expert on microwaves (I'll find the email to council later for the story). "He has raised such an alarm, for me at least, bc of his expertise on the subject. I think we need to have a full examination of it.

Notes that Parks and Rec would be earning $30K (she says per month but my notes indicate per year). That seems "a low amount," she says.

Weaver: Are there facilities on rec center already?
Brautigam: Yes
Weaver: For how long?
Brautigam: 10 yrs. It's an extension of a lease. We're adding 10 years to the 10-yr lease.

Brautigam "just got an email from someone in the audience who knows more than I do." Wants to call said person up.

Process check from Jones: We have a really long meeting. Suggests just pulling this item from tonight's agenda and doing it later.
