The whole project will cost $12.5M. City is putting up $5.1M and CU will kick in $2.65M plus $500K in donated land. Feds will contribute a further $4.75M

Since this uses federal funds, there's a process the city has to follow: the Uniform Act Property Acquisition Process. If negotiations don't work on the purchase price, it has to go to court.
"That's a place we rarely go," staff says, "we don't expect to need eminent domain." BUT.. there is a hard deadline (July 1) to acquire the property and get the federal funding.
If all goes well, underpasses will be done by March/April 2021

Morzel: I'm supporting this bc it seems to be a good thing for everyone. This intersection is a top ten crasher. This is an incredibly busy intersection; to get ppl out of harm's way is our primary goal.
