Socialism almost never loses to human agency. It's too good at propaganda and repression to be beaten by men. What kills it 9 times out of 10, if you will pardon the expression, is God. Grid collapse, famine, pandemic, hyperinflation.
Of course when the hand of God smites the ramshackle socialist enterprise there's a lot of collateral damage. People waiting for pensions that never come, free medicine that never is, electricity that's only a memory.
There was a lot more subsidiarity 150 years ago when people lived off the grid. Today we depend on systems of hideous complexity to get food, water and power. Then we put socialists in charge. What could go wrong?
