… although now I’m very aware that I’ve thrown a falsified historical document back into the mix of the web. Within moments, this could be picked up and used as the actual photo, colours and all.

Can’t stop. This is Conrad Heyer, born in 1749, the earliest birthdate of anyone ever photographed.
For no particular reason I colourised Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie. Incredible that this all took less than a minute.
For the record – not suggesting black and white films should be colourised (especially modern ones, where b/wis deliberate choice rather than a technological constraint); simply fascinated by the technology at play here.
