So my friend @ronaldnzimora gave me a suggestion to run Facebook ads a certain way for my business last week and I set out to do just that, this was not my first time running ads and after battling with it for the past week!! I’m making this thread to help others......

I call it 9 THINGS I WISH I KNEW BEFORE STARTING ADS ON FACEBOOK.

#1 DON’T USE YOUR PERSONAL AD ACCOUNT. If you’ve ran ads before you know every Facebook account has an ad account attached to it immediately which you can use to run ads, I actually advice not to use it cause Facebook has this annoying habit of blocking people’s Ad account.....

For the worst reasons. I’ve had two ad account blocked now. Trust me you don’t want to be a victim. You will not get your ad account back. Trust me don’t do it.

#2 HAVE ACTIVE BACK UP ACCOUNTS
Now as much as I say don’t use your main ad account some people will not use it so for those people I suggest you have an active back up account which you can switch to if your main account gets blocked. Now this account must be at least.....

one month old and active unless Facebook will temporarily close it down, I had two Facebook accounts temporarily closed this pasted week. Prepare well.
I don’t recommend this cause it’s tiring to keep up so instead do this!

#3 USE FACEBOOK BUSINESS MANAGER
This is the best option for advertising, you can open multiple add accounts, target better ( targeting with business manager is so good) and ad staff to also advertise plus it makes you look serious to Facebook and they are more lenient....

Just click business.facebook.com
Ps where it asks for website just put facebook.com/yourfacebookid
This is the best method and the tools provided would help you so much!

#4 DON’T MAKE A CLAIM.
Whatever you do, don’t make a claim!!! Now many of you this might not concern but if you are marketing Ecommerce products guys don’t make a claim!! You will be blocked o. I had my ad account blocked immediately cause I made a claim and advertised.....

content that was against the rules. Which brings me too the next point and this is something most people ignore or don’t do it might get you in trouble with Facebook.

#6 READ FACEBOOK AD GUIDELINES AND POLICY.
Please and please take out time to read the ad guidelines there are mistakes you would easily make and pay by having your ad account blocked immediately. Facebook also does not like discrimination, read up so you don’t fall a victim.

#7 LET THE AD BE APPROVED AND RUN.
All Facebook ads are screened and might be fast sometimes or slow deepening on when you decide to run the ads. From my experience Facebook ads are approved faster during the weekdays than weekends.Also they might not be approved fast to at night

Don’t delete and try again. You will be blocked trust me. I’m a victim.

Also when your ads are approved let them run, give the ad time to work ok. Don’t be afraid when you are not getting the results usually wait for like 3 days and see the effect then judge and maybe tweak.

#8 WATCH YOUTUBE VIDEOS
You will save yourself a whole lot of headache, understanding so many things of you just watch YouTube videos of people that teach how to advertise. You will learn how to use this tools well. Which you can then try on your own.

#9 DON’T BE AFRAID
I know this sounds silly but Facebook ads can seem overwhelming at first but it’s really not, it’s there to help you, take time to understand it and try. Don’t rush and don’t be afraid you will eventually get it and be a Guru!!!
