/ Bruce Ohr (transcript dougcollins.house.gov/sites/dougcoll… ) was asked if he'd ever prosecuted a "Russian oligarch". As often happens in Russiagate, Ohr's "Russian oligarch" was actually a Ukrainian politician, Lazarenko.
/ I've discussed Lazarenko in previous threads e.g. . Clinton and Nuland pal Yulia Tymoshenko was unindicted co-conspirator in original case against Lazarenko, brought in San Francisco. Viewed at time as grandiose expansion of US criminal jurisdiction.
/ there's an interesting name on the indictment against Lazarenko: Robert Mueller, then US Attorney in Northern District California

/ Ohr's connection to Lazarenko prosecution was as then chief of Organized Crime Section in Washington, which had "some supervisory responsibility". The lead prosecutor in San Francisco was Martha Boersch, who later left for Jones Day.
/ Ohr was asked about "other individuals who were also prosecuted". He recalled "Kerechenko" (actually Kiritchenko e.g. caselaw.findlaw.com/us-9th-circuit…), another UKRAINIAN, a nationality not distinguished by either Ohr or questioner from Russia.
/ Ohr was then asked about role in 2003 indictment of Semion Mogilevich, who had been charged in connection with YBM Magnex stock fraud.
/ YBM Magnex stock fraud had been investigated in Ontario long before Ohr got involved. Hearings began as early as 1999. I remember contemporary publicity as a former premier of Ontario had been a director (represented by a lawyer that I know)

/ Mogilevich was actually born in Ukraine (Kyiv). In early 2000s, after Tymoshenko lost political power, a company said to have been controlled by Mogilevich, RusUkrEnergo, displaced Tymoshenko's company in the lucrative franchise of re-selling Russian gas in Ukraine.
/ in 2008, when Tymoshenko regained political power, she stripped RusUkrEnergo of the lucrative franchise (which RusUkrE had taken from Tymoshenko) and arrested and charged Mogilevich

/ later, when Tymoshenko lost political power, she was once again charged with crimes. Hillary and Victoria Nuland came to Tymoshenko's support, notwithstanding her long history of corruption.
/ this Ukrainian practice of using public prosecutors against political opponents has recently been adopted in the US Special Counsel investigations of political opponents of Hillary Clinton
