Nope, it was a hit job on Sessions:

—Mar 1 2017: WaPo reported on undisclosed Sessions meetings with Kislyak (leaked by “Justice Department Officials”) <— 🚨

—Mar 2 2017: Sessions recuses

—Mar 20 2017: Dems (Sen. Franken/Leahy) first write a criminal referral to Comey

—Apr 28: Comey appears to ignore so Franken/Leahy write again to Comey, who appears to ignore again

—May 9: McCabe interviewed about leaking to WSJ by FBI INSD agents (he lies under oath) <—🚨

—May 9: Comey fired

—THEN: McCabe opens a probe into AG Sessions...for lying!

So just to recap:

—McCabe investigated Sessions for lying under oath right after lying under oath himself 🙄

—Even Comey didn’t think the Congressional referral on Sessions was legit (twice)

—That referral only came after DOJ/FBI officials leaked to the WaPo in the first place

Also, after Rosenstein wrested control of the investigation from McCabe by appointing Mueller, this case into Sessions went nowhere

Mueller’s team interviewed Sessions, then dropped it, apparently without even asking Sessions specifically about it

So yeah @NatashaBertrand, the disgraced Acting FBI Director opening up a criminal probe on his boss - the Attorney General - for a crime he was guilty of himself was totally on the up and up, nothing to see here
